Day 1 - A Bag of Potatoes

So we are here in the Dominican Republic...
It is very nice out, hot hot hot. That's the positive to start with but look out, the adventure is coming!
Note to everyone: Do not travel with American Airlines! We were delayed to the point that we almost missed our next flight and literally had to RUN to catch the plane to the Dominican, which then also happened to be delayed. We arrived in Santo Domingo at 9:30pm and proceded to wait for our luggage which never showed up, who knows where that is. Hopefully it is on the next plane flying in like the nice man at the counter told us, but I have my doubts. It is supposed to be delivered here tomorrow morning if it arrives after midnight tonight.
Now, moving on to our hotel situation... Veronique and I are sleeping practically on top of one another. Not exactly what we expected. Umm we were told that we would each have a seperate bedroom and a common area, but alast, this is what we are dealing with:


To end on another positive, the driver who picked us up from the airport seems pretty kool, he stopped on the side of the highway to change cds and find all sorts of music for us to hear. We have to learn the Mambo and it's FASt, fast just like the way he speaks in Spanish. He had some really wicked music. And now I think we are off to bed!

PS there is a bag of potatoes in the fridge.
